Theory test in Middlesbrough.

The theory test may be taken at any time once you have obtained a valid provisional driving licence and must be passed before you can apply to take a practical driving test. After passing your theory test you have two years in which to pass your practical test.

The theory test is in two parts a multiple choice test and a hazard perception test. You must pass both parts in order to receive a pass certificate. If you fail one part you must re-sit the whole test.

The multiple choice test consists of 50 questions you must answer at least 43 questions correctly in order to pass this test. You have 57 minutes in which to complete the test.

The hazard perception test consists of a series of 14 video clips in which you must identify various hazards. The sooner you identify the hazard the more marks you obtain. You must get at least 44 marks out of a possible 75.
